ABOUT CORPORATE LIFECYCLES

Every living organism has a Lifecycle. Stars, the solar system, plants, and people.  They are born, and go through predictable stages during their life. Organisations are exactly the same, they are born and also move through predictable stages.

 

At every stage of the Lifecycle organisations are faced with a different set of challenges. and the manner in which Executive Teams react to those challenges, determines the long term sustainability (or not) of the organisation.

Corporate Lifecycles MD has developed a set of sophisticated tools and processes, allowing Executive Teams to work through these challenges; effectively and efficiently, to get the organisation to “Prime''; which is the only stage in the Lifecycle where the organisation is Aligned, Results Oriented, Follows Effective Systems and Policies, has Plans and Follows them.

About the Methodology

Leading an organisation through lifecycle transitions is not easy, or obvious. The same methods that produce success in one stage can create failure in the next. Fundamental changes in leadership and management are all required, with an approach that delicately balances the amount of control and flexibility needed for each stage. Leaders who fail to understand what is needed (and not needed) can inhibit the development of their companies or plunge them into premature aging.

The challenges that every organisation must overcome at each stage of development first manifest themselves as problems that arise from the growth and success of the company and from external changes in markets, competitors, technology and the general business and political environment.

The ROLES

For companies to be successful in the short and the long term there are only four management roles that need to be provided.

 

Together they are sufficient, and individually they are necessary to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the business.

The STYLES

Different executives have different personal styles in the way they manage. ​However, there is no such thing as the the 'Ideal Manager', however you can learn to manage the differences and conflicts created by different styles in everyday business.
